Can you imagine the damage that would happen to a door hinge if it was screwed on at an angle? Your body is no different. This is about moving beyond symptoms and treatment and being pro-active to improve the function of your body for now and the long-run.
In over 20 years of physio I've seen how posturology (the study and improvement of posture) and kinesiology (the study and improvement of movement) are essential foundations for your body. Chances are that your posture, joint alignments and movement patters are degrading over time, but why accept that when there is so much that can be done? I work on this for myself and hope to pass on to others as much as possible.
Reduced Pain
Proper posture and movement can alleviate discomfort and pain, particularly in the back, neck, and joints, by reducing strain on muscles and ligaments.
Enhanced Mobility
Improving movement patterns increases flexibility and range of motion, making it easier to perform daily activities and engage in physical exercise.
Injury Prevention
Correcting posture and movement patterns helps prevent injuries by promoting safe and efficient movement, reducing the risk of strains and sprains.
Improved Balance and Stability
Better posture and movement mechanics contribute to enhanced balance and stability, which is especially important for older adults and athletes.
Increased Strength and Performance
Optimizing movement patterns can lead to improved strength and athletic performance by ensuring that muscles work effectively and efficiently during physical activities.
Enhanced Breathing
Good posture allows for better lung expansion and diaphragm function, leading to improved breathing efficiency and oxygen intake.
Boosted Confidence
Improved posture can enhance self-esteem and confidence, as standing tall and moving with purpose can positively affect how individuals perceive themselves and how others perceive them.
Better Circulation and Digestion
Proper posture can improve blood circulation and support digestive health by reducing pressure on internal organs, leading to better overall bodily function.

Paul is without doubt the best physio I have ever met. Two things make him uniquely special - firstly his fulsome and empathetic understanding of people; and secondly his holistic approach to his work. He takes time to understand and treat the cause rather than the effect of the injury, all the while explaining all of this to the patient. There is literally nothing he does not know. An absolute gem and I fully recommend.
For 20 years Paul has guided me very holistically through ongoing physical rehab and conditioning for sports and general wellbeing... An advocate and guide of the utmost order who is always keeping up to date with all modes of ongoing research never mind the qualifications – Paul practices it in his own time!
Paul without doubt takes time to understand the issues and look at a holistic fix rather than the immediate one. The fact I can still compete in my mid 50's is a testament to Paul's ability in his work.
Since getting my orthotics, I feel so much more balanced when I walk. The slight limp I had is gone, and my overall posture is improved. Walking is so much easier, my legs somehow feel lighter, and don't get as much build-up of tension in the rest of my body over the day.
